I changed my internet plan from the express 10 (10GB) to express 5 (5GB). I need to save money and even though the price difference between the two plans is just $10, it is still a lot of money to me. In 3 months, I will be able to save $30 by just using the 5GB plan.

So yeah
It's 5GB now.
Hopefully it will be enough.

IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN JUNO YET, WELL, GO SEE IT! SERIOUSLY. I SAW IT 4 TIMES AND I STILL CRY EACH TIME!
I am so nervous about going to class tomorrow. :(

Today, I went to the Sunday Market with the three girls (Jo, Zaty, Klong). I bought onions, potatoes, tomatoes, broccoli and carrots. I have no idea what I'm going to do with all that, hehehe. I think I need to start cooking vegetables too since I haven't been eating any unless Jo and Zaty offer theirs. I'm not a big fan of veggies but since Zaty was warning me about how important vegetables are especially if I want a healthy baby in the future (hehe), I've decided to start eating them. Yesterday, Zaty made this sup sayur which I honestly think is good so I think I might try that too. Oh, I also made chicken curry today, and I think it's quite okay for a beginner. Zaty and Jo had some of the chicken curry that I made and they said it was okay too :)

umm.I guess that is all for now. Will write more tomorrow, maybe after class? IF I have the time... I'm not sure how busy tomorrow will be even though I only have one class tomorrow.

I woke up quite late today...saja teringin nak tido lama sikit. After I woke up, I took a shower, had my breakfast, surfed the internet, and got ready to go to the beach at 1pm for my free ice cream! So, at 1pm, we waited at the foyer and off we went to the beach! It took us about 40 minutes to get to the beach by foot. I had chocolate and vanilla ice cream and it was yummy! Since it was quite warm, my ice cream melted pretty fast! I threw away most of my ice cream and just ate the cone...hehehe. After that, some of us went to Yan's Supermarket where they sell spices and stuff and at about 3, we walked back to Edu House :) That is pretty much what I did today. I'm planning to go see the "Pimp My Room" competition tonight at the common room. It sounds interesting. Last time, when I went to see Human Monopoly, I won myself a prize even though I did not participate in the game. So, who knows, maybe tonight could be my lucky night again? hehe.

That's all for now I guess.

Oh, if you want to view my pictures, just go to my friendster page. It's open to public. Here's the url: www.friendster.com/rasyiqah

Sunday, February 17th

It has been almost a week since I arrived in Wellington. So far, everything has been great and I am enjoying myself here. Orientation week is nothing like the ones I’ve heard about in Malaysia. It is more relaxed and the people here are very friendly. The only thing that I am still trying to get used to is the weather. The weather in Wellington is so unpredictable. One minute it is sunny and nice and suddenly the wind blows and it rains. It is very important to bring a hooded sweater in your bag everywhere you go if you are in Wellington. They say you can experience all four season in one day! Two days ago, I was freezing like mad because I forgot my sweater! Oh yeah, my room is really really really nice! (But the rent is quite expensive too…heheh)

I’m on the sixth floor but my room is facing an office building (I was hoping for a nicer view). I have to be careful if I want to change my clothes and stuff like that… But other than that, it is really nice. There’s a kitchenette in my room and for the past two days, I have been experimenting with a lot of cooking. Wellington is not that expensive if you know the right places to buy your groceries and stuff. There is a Sunday Market near where I live that sells vegetables and fruits and it’s really cheap. I went there this morning. I can also get my groceries for cheap at New World Supermarket but I have to do a bit of walking. There is a nearer one called New World Metro down Willis St. where I live, but it is a bit expensive than the one I mentioned before. As for things like plates, cups, pots, pans, etc, Warehouse is the place to go. I’ve been there 3 times, I think. Another place is called Briscoes but that one is also a bit expensive.

Oh! My campus is wayyyy up the hill. I have to walk about 1 km uphill (maybe more) just to get to class! It’s a 45° hill. No kidding! The first day I went there I thought I would never make it! But after the 3rd day, it’s not that bad anymore. It’s really really really steep! If I’m not mistaken, Wellington is the hilliest city in New Zealand.

I think I can like this place. Yeah, I think I can. I hope I will not go through the depression mode that everyone is talking about. I know things are okay now because everything is new and exciting, but I hope it will somehow stay this way. I am not yet homesick but I do miss the people at home. I’ve been calling Mak everyday so I think I’ll be alright. Wan is away camping somewhere so I will only be able to talk to him tomorrow, I think. I wish I can bring my family and Wan here... I hope they can come visit me soon though. I can’t wait to show them my room and my newly improved cooking skills. Hehehe. I have a new cell phone number over here but I am not planning to give it away just yet. But if anyone wants it, just leave a message here or on friendster.

I think this is all for now. I will write more as time goes. I can’t promise to write everyday since I don’t know how my classes will be. I have to get used to this place first. Besides, it is time that I focus more on my studies :) Do wish me luck. I’m going to sign up for my wireless connection tomorrow.

I just realised that, being at home for 6 months does not, in any way, make it any easier for me to leave. If anything, it only makes it harder.

I feel like crying now. I am so not ready to leave.
Dear Year 2008,

I know we've only known each other for a day, and we both could not tell yet how this relationship will go, but I just want to thank you for making the first day so fun! I woke up so early this morning because I was so eager to spend the first day with you! I am looking forward to the next 12 months with you. Please make my year fun and exciting, okay? Please make Uni life easy for me, and please make me a better person... I have so many plans with you and I hope I get to do it all :)

I know we'll have so much fun! I have a good feeling about this 2008! :)

Love,
